Each year as SFIAF rolls around, we turn to various sources and contacts in the community and around the world to find the best animation from the past year. When it comes to locating media’s outer reaches and weirdnesses, it happens that one of the SF Film Society’s secret weapons resides in-house. Welcome to the strange and charmed world of guest programmer Jay Wertzler. In it you’ll find LCD Soundsystem, Tiny Fuppets, weird animals and an array of current and potential cultural memes. Wertzler will guide us through his special version of the animated universe, one that is as sweet and dangerous as a gingerbread house located deep in the forest of your hipster-critical mind. By attending, we can’t guarantee that you will be a better person (although it’s likely), but you will definitely have something to talk about at your next soul night house party.
